KaingU Lodge

Positioned on the beautiful slow-moving Kafue River, KaingU Lodge is situated on the eastern edge of Kafue National Park. Traditionally styled, this small camp centres on a thatched boma.

Beside this, a redwood deck looks out over the river, shaded by overhanging trees. At night a stone fire pit warms the deck, which is the perfect place for dining, sipping sundowners or simply relaxing.

Six Meru-style thatched chalets, with canvas walls, dot the surrounding area. All feature en-suite facilities, as well as stone-built outside showers that face the waters of the Kafue River. The tented chalets sit on raised private decks and are lit by solar-powered lights.

The lodge's wonderful location provides the perfect backdrop for a diverse range of activities. Take guided game trips on land and water, canoe, walk, bird and fish. Also, cruise down the Kafue River and stop on a peaceful island for a delicious picnic.

WHY WE LIKE IT

This lodge sits on the edge of the park, but still feels immersed in wilderness. Its location is captivating, with the waters of the Kafue River flowing slowly past the cool tents. Offering access to a vast swathe of Kafue Park, KaingU is an excellent base for exploration.
