Day 1Fly from London to Lusaka.
Day 2From Lusaka International Airport you will take your onward flight to Mfuwe and
Robin's House. Lying on the edge of
Nkwali Camp (Robin Pope Safaris) on the banks of the Luangwa River, this two-bedroom private house is ideal for families. From here you have a prime view of the river and the animals that come down to drink. The house has a sitting room with dining area, toys and game packs for children, private kitchen and chef as well as a private guide and safari vehicle for the game viewing activities. There is also a hostess at the house who will happily baby-sit the children and entertain them around camp; feeding the chickens in the vegetable garden or baking cookies in the kitchen!
Days 3-5A campfire breakfast at dawn marks the start of the day with the morning walk or drive leaving soon after. The game in the area is excellent and includes many family herds of elephants and the endemic species of giraffe, the Thornicroft Giraffe. Returning to the house for lunch around midday, the afternoon is spent enjoying the pool or a siesta before tea and your second game drive of the day. Watch nocturnal game appearing at dusk before returning to camp and dinner.
Day 6A final day to enjoy further game drives or walking safaris or a chance to experience some of the local culture with a visit to
Kawaza Village and the Kawaza School where you will meet some of the enthusiastic children there. Try the local cuisine, visit a traditional healer and dance with the women in the village! Spend your last evening relaxing by the river or out in the park looking for one more exciting animal sighting!
Day 7An early start before your flight over the wide
Zambezi River to the Lower Zambezi. From the air watch buffalo, elephant and hippos on the sandbanks. Your next glorious home is
Albida Suite at
Chongwe River Camp on the boundary of the
Lower Zambezi National Park. With its two lovely en suite bedrooms, private lounge/dining area and pool, the suite is perfectly situated on the banks of the river. From your new base you can enjoy game drives, walking safaris, river cruises, fishing, and canoeing.
Days 8-10Three full days to fish for the mighty Zambezi Tiger fish, enjoy a relaxing canoe trip on the river, a sunset cruise, or a night drive!
Day 11After breakfast and farewells, take a drive through the park to the airstrip to meet the plane taking you to Lusaka and your onward flight home.
The cost of the above is from £3,360 per adult and from £3,205 child based on two adults travelling with two children. The cost includes international flights, domestic flights, all transfers and full board accommodation.
