This camp is closed for refurbishment until the end of June 2008.
The secluded tented Kulefu camp is situated on a small channel of the Zambezi River, under a canopy of splendid acacia trees. This extremely remote area is surrounded by wildlife with numerous species of birds. Several prides of lion have their territory near the camp and the males may be heard throughout the night, claiming their territory. Kulefo camp is also visited during the day by elephant and at night by buffalo and lion. Several packs of wild dog patrol the large plains around the camp.
The 7 chalets at Kulefu Camp are shaded by winterthorn acacia trees and fan out on either side of the main camp along the riverbank. Each tent has magnificent views of the river and hills that turn purple with the setting sun. The dining room is an open-plan, semi-permanent bell tent with new luxury furnishing and canvas. Taking advantage of the beautiful sunsets will be an outdoor sundowner deck in front of the dining area facing the river, where an open fire is lit at night. Splendid breakfasts will also be offered here. A wooden deck will be built around the swimming pool to the edge of the river bank, enabling guests to cool off on sun loungers under shade umbrellas while keeping an eye on activity in the river. Children 12 years and older will be accepted in the camp.
Activities at Kulefo Camp include four wheel drive game viewing in extremely remote areas, game viewing by boat, and canoe, bird watching, walks and just relaxing on your verandah.
