WHEN TO GO TO SOUTH WEST USA
The shoulder season months of April to early June and September to early November are great times to travel to explore the parks when they are quiet.
The summer months are very hot so are best enjoyed away from the desert or near to a body of water.
The south-west is home to numerous bird migrations with most activity seen in the Spring, especially the month of April. By May, most bird species have arrived including owls, warblers, trogons and tropical birds such as Kingbirds and Nightjars.
