Along this coastline are the small fishing villages of Tela and Omoa and also the historic town of Trujillo with its old Spanish fortress and fading colonial buildings. In this area you will also find the park of Pico Bonito, popular for white-water rafting and home to jaguar and monkeys, and the wildlife reserve of Cuero y Salado, with its large population of manatee and migratory birds. Just in from the coast is the main business centre of the country, San Pedro Sula.
