The Interior The Interior

BoquetePanama - Panama City
'El Interior' refers to anywhere outside the capital city, but essentially implies the area around the Pan-American Highway going north to Costa Rica. The road follows the Pacific coast with its deserted beaches and legions of small pink crabs. It also passes through agricultural lands varying from dry savannah to tropical plantations, misty mountain scenery and colonial towns including David and those on the Azuero Peninsula. The Interior allows the visitor to explore the cooler Chiriqui Highlands, hike around the refreshing hill resorts of Boquete, climb the Volcan Baru and water raft the Chirique River. Nature trails abound and the bird life here is fantastic.
