Voted "Best Safari Camp" in Zimbabwe for four of the last six years, The Hide lies on the eastern boundary of Hwange National Park. One of the few outfits within the park perimeter, the camp has several hides overlooking nearby waterholes. Just one hundred and eighty metres from the lodge is an ideal vantage point to view some of the numerous animal and bird species found in Hwange. The former includes rare black and white rhino as well as unusually prolific game herds such as groups of over one hundred elephant. The camp consists of ten East African style tents with large porch verandas. En-suite showers, flushing loos, plentiful hot water and spacious bedrooms furnished with teak beds and colourful rugs make for a deeply comfortable existence. Delectable food is elegantly presented with candelabra, cut glass and silver, after which the opportunity to watch leopard and other nocturnal predators at the subtly lit pan makes for a remarkable end to what will inevitably have been a remarkable day in this magnificent park
