Once Africa is in your blood, you never lose it - and there is just something that comes alive when you step off the plane and smell Africa. I was born whilst my parents lived in Sierra Leone, West Africa and later on when I was six we moved to Botswana where I was schooled locally. This is where my intense love of Africa began. My father insisted in exploring every inch of Botswana, normally camping on top of the landrover. During this time, we were also lucky to have adventures in other destinations such as South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe. In my late teens we moved to India and following that Pakistan. However, Africa for me had been everything - I loved the open space, the culture, the people, the game, the sunsets. Since joining Steppes I have been privileged to have now travelled almost every inch of eastern & southern Africa. My highlights have been chimpanzee trekking in the Mahale Mountains by Lake Tanganyika, enjoying afternoon tea in Madagascar with lemurs & sifakas bouncing around on the trees, catching a 14 pound tiger fish on the Lower Zambezi, every single stunning sunset in Africa...need I go on....?!
