The Tambopata Research Centre is a spartan yet comfortable 13 bedroom lodge built with the object of lodging tourists and researchers alike and of protecting the adjacent macaw clay lick. Because of its remote location, in uninhabited wilderness, the infrastructure is simple. However Tambopata Research Centre is an excellent base for in depth explorations of Amazonian nature and wildlife.
The Lodge is designed around simplicity, each room has two beds draped in mosquito netting, a chair, a night table with a kerosene windlamp, and a table for luggage and clothing. Rooms have a view of the clearing around the camp from which you can observe the wildlife. There is a roofed passageway connecting the bathrooms containing 4 flush toilets and 4 shower stalls, offering cold water only. A similar roofed passageway also connects the dinning area and kitchen. Food in the Tambopata Research Centre combine international, Peruvian and local cuisine.
A visit to the Tambopata research Centre takes you to the heart of the forest where with the aid of guides you can experience it in its prime.
