Owned and operated by John and Carol Coppinger, Tafika is a lovely friendly camp. It is situated just north of the Nsefu Sector about two hour's drive from Mfuwe airport, and has sweeping views down the Luangwa River. Accommodation at Tafika is in six thatch chalets made from golden coloured grasses and each has an open-air bathroom. Activities include day and night game drives, walking in the park, and dependent on water levels it may be possible to canoe across the river into the park. Micro lighting is also available for sunrise trips over the Luangwa River. All of the Remote Africa guides have spent at least seven years in the Luangwa Valley and are all excellent. The food at Tafika is very good with most of it homegrown in the large vegetable gardens.
