House of Waine is located in the leafy Nairobi suburb of Karen and has the appearance of an elegant country manor even though it is quite near the bustle of the city so is suitable for a one night stop during international flights. The bedrooms at House of Waine are all individually styled along a theme: features include canopy beds, deep claw-foot bathtubs, and sumptuous fabrics. It is a perfect choice for those that wish to experience Nairobi from a comfortable (and serene) distance.
Sabuk is an exclusive getaway on the edge of the Laikipia Plateau. Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, this comfortable lodge has been built using natural, local materials such as thatch, stone and cedar wood. Sabuk accommodates up to twelve people comfortably with five ensuite rooms. Each room is unique. One room has a loft and a blue bath, while the room next door has an outside bath and shower, with an armchair to sit in while your bath fills! The honeymoon suite has its own fireplace, making it the perfect place for a quiet dinner away from it all!
For your next destination the Masai Mara, boasts the single largest concentration of plains game that can be found anywhere in the world. Just short of 770 sq. miles, this extraordinary area offers the possibility of seeing almost every animal indigenous to the region. Elephant Pepper Camp is an idyllic tented camp, shaded by an indigenous forest of mature trees the camp looks out on an endless vista of plains game and the open plains characteristic of the world's most sought after game reserve. The traditional safari tents are very comfortable and spacious with en-suite hot showers, safari 'short-drop' toilets, washroom and dressing area. Evenings by the campfire overlooking the plains, lit only by the soft glow of hurricane lamps and dinner under the stars are a special feature. This is an original bush camp. Here you leave the modern world behind and relax with nature, evenings bathed in the soft light of hurricane lamps, no generators, no vehicles passing, just the sights and sounds of the bush...

The site of George Adamson's first camp, Elsa's Kopje is named after Elsa, the orphaned lioness reared by George and Joy Adamson and returned to the wild here. Elsa's Kopje is a stylish wilderness retreat, offering breathtaking 360 views of the surrounding plains and wetlands below. It consists of eight stone cottages, each individually designed to incorporate the rocks into an open plan architecture. Here guests enjoy the Italian influenced cuisine for which Cheli & Peacock are famous. A sister camp to Tortilis and Laikipia Camps. Elsa's guests virtually have Meru National Park to themselves. Enjoy game drives in open 4WD vehicles, guided nature walks, fishing, night game drives and rafting on the Tana River. Try a bush breakfast, picnic or sundowner, or a bush dinner under the stars. Head out to explore the nearby Kora National Park for the day; relax in the lodge, take a dip in the pool or browse in the library.
An ancient land inhabited by wildlife and peoples of a time long ago, undisturbed and living by the rhythm of nature. And there, as part of this untamed and beautiful landscape is Ol Malo - Place of the Greater Kudu- nestled into a rugged escarpement looking out across the time - honoured lands of Kenya's Northern Frontier District. The four guest cottages are spread out along the cliff edge and are uniquely built out of natural rock and ancient olive wood, with thatched roofs and huge glass windows facing onto the view. Ol Malo can take up to eight people at one time. Rooms can hold up to three people, if families wish to stay in the same room. All the cottages are different and each room offers the maximum in privacy and comfort, with huge king size beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms and each has its own private veranda. Some rooms are on a split level with the bathroom underneath the room, others have the bathroom on the same level. If there was ever a time one wished to soak in a bath and look out at a beautiful vista and at wild animals grazing then this is the place to do it! Ol Malo has a separate sitting room made out of natural rock and olive wood. Close the cedar door, sink into the sofas and with the warmth of the roaring fire, one could almost be forgiven for forgetting they are in the heart of Africa. One of the most stunning parts of Ol Malo is the very private swimming pool built on the cliff edge, with its water spilling over. The pool is warmed by the hot African sun and has a separate shower/bathroom and eating area. A short walk across a lawn finds you in Ol Malo's dining room. Made of natural rock and olive wood with a thatched roof and wide-open windows, it is testament to the meaning 'Room With A View'. Day and night game drives are available, plus game walks, camel and horse rides and visits to the neighbouring Samburu manyattas. Ol Malo provides an experience, which cannot be matched anywhere else. For the more adventurous and those who wish to leave the comfort of Ol Malo, why not spend the night under the stars?
Rekero is owned and run by the Beaton's, and the knowledge and hospitality shown by the family and their local Masai and Ndorobo guides is what makes a stay here so special. The tented camp is in the style of a smart mobile camp with six large tents set on the edge of the river. Although toilets and bucket showers are en-suite there is a canvas basin on the verandah, and hot and cold water is provided. There is also a dining tent, although most meals are enjoyed outdoors. Game viewing is predominantly by vehicle, and the knowledge of the local guides is such that guests from Rekero are unlikely to encounter other tourists during their stay. Guests can also go game viewing on foot a short distance away, outside the Park itself, escorted by experienced Masai guides. The camp is ideally situated for viewing the big cats, and also for the annual wildebeest migration. On the reserve there are also large herds of buffalo and various antelope, and in addition hippo, giraffe, elephant, cheetah and leopard are frequently seen.....
