What has been your favourite travel experience?
Hiring a pedalo and coming across a small pod of dolphins just off the coast of Varadero in Cuba. Swimming with the dolphins, unplanned and in their natural habitat was such an adrenalin rush!
The Best hotel/lodge that you have stayed in?
Al Qsar in Dubai. It means ‘The Palace’ and it certainly lived up to its name!
What has been your most remote travel experience?
Mona. A very small island situated between Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. A small group of us headed over to find the Mona Iguanas – the only remaining inhabitants of the island! With a maximum of twenty five people allowed on the island at any one time, it felt like our own real life “desert island” experience!
Most embarrassing travel experience?
Taking just under thirty five minutes to struggle into a wetsuit before Scuba Diving for the first time in Halkidiki. The rest of the group sat all geared up starring at me for a good twenty minutes!
Your one luxury when you travel?
My hair straighteners!
What’s your best piece of travel advice?
Don’t be afraid to stray from your fellow tourists – get off the beaten track and do as the locals do!
Where would you like to visit next and why?
Kenya. I’m desperate to go and the beauty just amazes me! It’s right at the top of my wish list!
