Sri Lanka HoneymoonThis tiny island
jewel lies between the southern tip of India and the northern islands of the Maldives in the middle of the Indian Ocean. For centuries the island has been an important player in the spice and gem trades and the
riches this has brought it are evident in some of the beautiful
temples and impressive
fortresses that are still visible there today. Furthermore, the island is surrounded by palm-fringed beaches and is home to some exciting wildlife and fabulous scenery.
Sri Lanka has had a troubled past, but the resilience and optimism of its people form the backbone of the wonderful warm welcome and hospitality that you will receive.
For a truly memorable honeymoon experience, we would recommend combining time in Sri Lanka with a few days in the

AmanwellaAmanwella is situated in a mature coconut grove above a palm strewn tropical beach on the southern tip of Sri Lanka's Indian Ocean coastline, close to the fascinating village of
Tangalle. Long white beaches, tall leaning palms, rocky outcrops and a
turquoise sea are the backdrop for the resort as well as the local villages and nearby
rock temples.
The clean vertical lines of this
chic stylish retreat are in sharp contrast with the surrounding rugged coastal landscape, forming a sense of calm and serenity for its visiting guests.
Situated mostly on the hillside, the
Suites enjoy varying views of the coconut grove and ocean. Floor-to-ceiling glass, form two sides of the dwelling - the first opening onto a private walled-in courtyard and the second, onto a terrace affording open views. There is a combined sleeping and living room with a king-size bed, and open-plan bathroom. Each luxurious contemporary style suite benefits from its own sparkling pale aqua
plunge pool.
The cuisine here is a fusion of Asian and Mediterranean with an emphasis on fresh locally caught
seafood. Once replenished, enjoy a therapy either in the spa suite or in the privacy of your own room.
Finally, relax by the resorts main
swimming pool which features a unique 'internal wall' design, with uninterrupted views of the staggering front stage of palms, beach and ocean.
AmangallaSet in the centre of the 400 year old Galle Fort - a
UNESCO World Heritage Site - this property is housed in historic colonial buildings, formerly the New Oriental Hotel.
Accommodation comprises 29 en suite rooms, chambers, suites and a two-storey Garden House all providing varying views overlooking
Galle Fort. Suites feature king-size beds, planter's chairs, a dining table and antiques.
The Garden House is located within the grounds and features the original antique furniture distributed through a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and pantry (serviced by a private butler).
The hotel's Baths' treatment rooms and hydrotheraphy area recapture a bygone era of "taking the waters" to restore the body and
soothe the mind.
The swimming pool offers five shaded ambalamas and a series of sun loungers. Nearby there is a
Meditation and Yoga Pavilion. From here you can stroll through the Fort's bustling narrow streets and colonial buildings, or travel further afield to the island's
temples and tea plantations.
The Kandy HouseThe
ancestral home of one of Kandy's most influential aristocratic families, this unique Sri Lankan
Manor House offers seclusion and serenity in a tropical garden setting close to historic Kandy. From this luxurious base it is easy to set out and explore the delights of the surrounding area.
With only 9 individual bedrooms and suites the Kandy House is able to ensure a high standard of personal service at all times. Many of the rooms contain original antiques from a bygone age, while photographs stand to illustrate the house's ancestral past.
Relax in the hotel's manicured gardens, enjoy its
fantastic cuisine and look forward to returning to your comfortable bed after a glorious day of Sri Lankan sightseeing.
