The stately Cape Dutch farmhouse of Roggeland, situated on a farm on the northern outskirts of the historic town of Paarl, offers a true glimpse into South African farm life and hospitality within a relaxed environment. Arriving at Roggeland can be likened to arriving at a friends country house.

There are eleven uniquely romantic bedrooms offering idyllic garden or mountain views. The main house and other buildings are all National Monuments and the reception areas and bedrooms are comfortably decorated with antiques and other lovely pieces.

Guests relax and have pre-dinner drinks and locally made olives on the sweeping lawn in front of the main house as the sunsets over the mountains. Dinners at Roggeland are a gastronomic delight - Menu de Gustation - and are announced with the chef calling the guests through to the dining room with a bell. The dinners are a set menu of four superbly prepared courses of regional cuisine, and different wines from the local cellars have been chosen to accompany each course, thus creating one of the best food and wine experiences in the Cape Winelands.
