The spectacular Relais De La Reine hotel is completely set into the rocks and further away from Isalo park entrance. There is a pool built into the dramatic surroundings with comfortable recliners plus an elegant restaurant with a huge veranda and beautifully presented food and efficient service. English is spoken at Relais De La Reine. The paths to the bedrooms are well laid out with some of the rooms further away from the reception (a good five minute walk). There are thirty seven rooms in total at Relais De La Reine and seven of the rooms are totally isolated near the horse farm. All have modern ensuite bathrooms with toilet and shower and each bedroom has a standing fan.

The park itself is situated in the south of Madagascar and offers two great features, the Canyon of Rats and Canyon of Lemurs. Both are well worth a visit and are ideal for people who like to walk. The big boulders make it tough going but around every corner is an undiscovered mini cave and scenery that is truly unique. Wildlife in the area includes brown lemurs, small reptiles (chameleon and geckos) and various insects. Rare endemic plants including the Pachypodium. Activities include horse riding, swimming and treks in the Isalo National Park.
