Both the
Professor Molchanov and
Professor Multanovskiy are ideally suited for expedition cruising, with ice-strengthened hulls and passive stabilisers. Originally used for polar and oceanographic research, they were then converted for passenger use and fully refurbished. The vessels accommodate a maximum of only 52 passengers in twin and triple cabins, with a choice of en suite or shared bathroom facilities. The public areas include two interconnecting dining rooms, a lounge/ bar/ library, infirmary and sauna. They each have a Russian crew of 23, with European chefs to prepare varied international cuisine. An experienced team of naturalists and lecturers are also on board.
