Potosi, the highest city in the world stands at 3,977m. It is a beautiful city with many interesting and exciting sites. Cerro Rico towers above like a giant pink head stone in the background. Once the richest city in the world as a result of the silver produced by Cerro Rico, it was only rivalled by Paris, London and Seville. Unfortunately you will also see the painful history of the city as many slaves were killed in the dangerous silver mines.

Many of the magnificent old buildings of Potosi built as a result of the silver income have since been declared UNESCO sites and although the city has lost its riches it is still one of the countries greatest attractions.
