Ponta do Tangua, Angra dos Reis

Set along the most beautiful coast in Brazil, the Angra dos Reis region combines mountainous tropical forest with sandy beaches and exceptionally calm water. The villa is set away from the town and enjoys almost complete seclusion. However, local fishermen do stop by to sell their catch on the beach, whilst the calls of monkeys and the hum of birds populating the forest lined beaches add to the charm of this secluded cove.

This traditional Brazilian villa was built on an historical Portuguese landing site established during the gold rush of the early 18th Century. The wall and steps which enclose the house and lead down to the private beach were built during this era. The beach is surrounded by large rocks and accessible to others only by boat.

Down by the villa's shore a separate beach house is a favourite spot where fresh fish can be cooked on the grill accompanied by tropical salads and cooling caipirinhas. Alternatively, take a boat and sail around the tiny atolls which are scattered throughout the bay and offer a wide choice of beach bars and restaurants.

The villa is approximately a fifty minute helicopter flight or a four hour drive from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
