A rugged and windswept wildlife haven on the Atlantic Coast, home to elephant seals, sea lions, guanacos, rheas, Magallenic penguins and many other seabirds. The biggest attraction is the Southern Right Whale who come to breed between June and mid-December in the warmer and enclosed waters along this coastline.
From September to January, the Atlantic coast becomes a wildlife paradise as Magellan penguins, cormorants, terns, albatross, elephant seals, sea lions, Southern Right whales and Commerson's dolphin take up home on or around Peninsula Valdes and Punta Loma. Nearby and inland, is the Chubut Valley, the centre of a 19th century Welsh settlement where cream teas are still sold and Welsh songs still sung.
Strategically located in the tip of Punta Ninfas, El Pedral offers a natural, unique and exclusive lookout for watching the whales entering the bay just a few meters from the main lodge.
