Pantanal Pantanal

Pantanal aerial viewPantanal storks
The Pantanal is the worlds largest freshwater wetland, covering an area of over 200,000 square kilometres. It is home to over 500 species of bird, over 200 species of fish and over 50 species of mammal. Thanks to its open vegetation, it is a fantastic place to view wildlife. Toucans, anteaters, capybara, jaguars, caiman, macaws, Jaribu storks and anacondas are just a few of the animals that live alongside the resident herds of cattle being driven by the pantaneros on horseback. This fascinating area can be seen by boat, horseback, on foot or 4wd vehicle, depending on the season.
