The American Trade Hotel is the latest development in the regeneration of Panama City's Casco Viejo. The property was built in the early 20th Century to house the American Trading Company department store and was an iconic building within the city.
When ATC closed its doors the building was subject to gang rule and dereliction for decades.
Today, the American Trade Hotel hosts 50 rooms beautifully designed and decorated under the expertise of Commune and Ace Hotels. Corner rooms with balconies offer fantastic views across the historic plaza and the Panoramic rooms have floor to ceiling windows for jaw dropping views to Panama Bay. This hotel has recaptured the buzz of Casco Viejo and is once again a positive landmark within the old quarter.
Why we like it
For its fantastic location in the old town of Panama City, walking distance of a number of historic buildings, galleries and museums, and the fact it is a lovely hotel in such an iconic building.
