Pakistan Holidays
Frequently ignored by travellers to the east, Pakistan is, in our view, one of the most scenically and culturally underrated countries you can visit. Populated by an immensely hospitable and kind people, it somehow exudes an air of polite sophistication and avoids the seemingly endless crush of India. The southern plains are dotted with superb examples of Mogul architecture which include both magnificent tombs and elaborate gardens.
However, it is not until you start to climb into the mountains that the real beauty of the country is revealed. The infamous North-West frontier region, so vividly portrayed in countless books, poems and films, lives up to its reputation. Towering snow capped peaks dominate the skyline and the valleys below offer superb trekking. Steep valleys, raging rivers, isolated villages, apricot groves, forts and the inimitable proud tribesmen all combine to preserve an atmosphere of a bygone age. There is excellent trout fishing, good food and good hotels, together with a masterpiece of engineering, the Karakorum Highway, which provides access to all but the most remote areas.

Drive up to Chitral and Hunza before crossing over the Karakorum Mountains to Kashgar in China. From there a journey can be continued either east or west along the Silk Road.
Cross the border into India and continue through the Punjab to Amritsa.
