Although modern hotels are now appearing in Tbilisi, they are almost non-existent elsewhere. This is our good fortune since, when travelling outside the capital, you will stay with families in their spacious traditional houses.

In doing so, you will experience the very genuine hospitality of the Georgian people, whose unique cooking traditions, using locally grown vegetables and spices, are continued in every home. While meat is free range, there is also a fine tradition of vegetarian cookery. Every meal is accompanied by delicious, hot khatchapuri (cheesy bread) and every housewife boasts her own variation on the age old recipe.
