The Shangri La consists of three separate hotels all around 124 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.
Al Waha caters primarily for families with kids clubs and activities, and then there is the 5 star Al Bandar and lastly the 6 star Al Husn, which has fewer rooms and suites and caters for the top end of the market.
Shangri La's three hotels have a total of 680 rooms; each of the rooms is elegantly furnished, most with views of the sea and the great sweeping bay, where turtles often come ashore to lay their eggs.
Situated overlooking the Arabian Sea and surrounded by the mountains, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort is an excellent location. Made up of three hotels, The Al Waha is accessed through a tunnel through the mountain leading you into the heart of the hotel. Al Waha is the first dedicated family hotel and is the largest of the three hotels at Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa.
Comprising 262 guestrooms, each room provides guests with either a 5 sqm balcony or patio, with seaview or sea-facing perspectives. The name Al Waha means "The Oasis", and has been designed such that the hotel's several swimming pools form an oasis incorporating many date palm trees.
