Ol Lentille, Laikipia

The Ol Lentille conservancy is named after a hill bordered by acacia, olive, fig and fever trees, and is home to the endangered African wild dog, greater kudu, leopard, hyena and klipspringer. It sits perched on the flanks of a wooded rock kopje at the heart of a 6,500 acre private conservancy just north of Mt Kenya. The Sanctuary is a collection of four private, fully serviced houses with amazing 360 degree views spread across the Laikipia plateau.

Your hosts here are actually the Laikipiak Maasai with whom The Sanctuary has set up a community project. This incentive, unique in Africa, works in parallel with supporting conservancy. Each house is completely private and fully staffed with butler, valet, safari guide and vehicle. They share a beautiful deck and swimming pool, a library and star observatory equipped with GPS telescope. Meals are normally served in the separate houses, but can be laid out beside the pool. A wide range of outdoor activities are the alternative to simply lying back and losing oneself in the endless landscape.

The charter flight from Nairobi airport to Ol Lentille airstrip is one hour and fifteen minutes. Alternatively, fly scheduled to Nanyuki followed by a fifteen minute charter flight or a short helicopter ride.
