Ol Donyo Wuas lies in the foothills of the Chyulu Range, halfway between Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks. The owners have a concession on 300,000 acres of communal Maasai owned land, which is also part of the Amboseli eco-system. Most visitors arrive and depart by Boskovic Air Charters, a 45-minute flight from Nairobi. It is possible to drive but 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended. The drive is approximately 4 hours from Nairobi. There are 7 individual cottages at Ol Donyo Wuas, built of local materials with spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Two of the cottages have an additional bedroom for guests with children. Each cottage has an en suite bathroom, and the electricity and hot water is generated by a solar system with wood burning stoves as back up.

Ol Donyo Wuas is situated on private Maasai owned land. This gives opportunities for cultural interaction, horse riding, open-vehicle game drives, night game drives and walking. Walking and riding safaris using a mobile tented camp can also be arranged.
