Nkwichi Lodge Nkwichi Lodge

Nkwichi Nkwichi beach
Lake Niassa is the 9th largest fresh-water lake in the world - a 1,600-acre private concession in the Manda Wilderness Community Nature Reserve. With the commitment and active involvement of the local communities an area of 100,000 Ha (1/4 million acres) of unspoilt wilderness including brachystegia and riverine forest, savannah, swamps and streams, mountains and miles of beaches with crystal clear fresh water have been set aside to form the basis of Manda Wilderness Community Game Reserve.

Nkwichi Lodge lies on the shores of Lake Niassa, at one of the most beautiful points of the lake. It has been carefully designed to provide comfort and privacy for its guests. With a maximum of only 14 guests, Nkwichi Lodge can offer the highest levels of service in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.
The seven chalets at Nkwichi Lodge are cleverly tucked into the trees, providing unique views across the crystal clear waters. All are individually designed and very spacious, with a centrepiece of an enormous four-poster bed, made of old tree trunks and covered in beautifully crafted mosquito nets. En-suite bathrooms, with outside showers that are hung from branches of the overhanging tree canopy feature, provide complete privacy.

You can enjoy a wide variety of activities at Nkwichi such as canoeing, guided bush walks, birds and wildlife watching, snorkelling, surfing, kite flying. Alternatively you are welcome to simply relax on your private verandah in a hammock and read.
