Lima confirmed as the final host for the 2012 Dakar Rally
Pending numerous media reports speculalting that Peru, Bolivia, Brazil or Ecuador would be the final host for the 2012 Dakar Rally, it has finally been confirmed by the Presiden of the Peruvian Sports Institue (IPD).
As well as confirmation Peru shall have another stage added taking it to four passing through Arequipa, Ica and onto Lima where the prize ceremony shall take place on January 15th on the Plaza del Armas, Lima's main square.
A press conference shall be held in Lima on the 12th April to make the official announcement and of course to welcome Peru for the first time into this incredible event.
