1200 new species discovered in the Amazon over 10 years

Every month we hear about species which have gone the way of the Dodo but it’s not all bleak news. New species are being discovered all the time all around the world. The WWF have just a released a report detailing the 1200 new species of plants and animals which have been discovered in the Amazon between 1999 and 2009, this is equivalent to discovering a new species every 3 days.
