Thousands of tourists flock to Africa each year to admire the country's stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife and welcoming people.
But while most holidaymakers head to the best known resorts, those who wish to enjoy a truly unique experience head off the beaten track to countries which have not yet been invaded by the bikini brigade.
Uganda is one such country, with its sun soaked days and rich culture making it the perfect place for an adventure.
Despite being bordered by five other African nations, the land-locked nation is by no means without adequate access to water with Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, Lake Kyoga and Lake Edward providing visitors with some of the most beautiful scenery on the continent.
But despite its stunning landscape the country is probably best known for its people, whose traditions and culture date back thousands of years.
The country has a thriving music scene and locals are known to make the most of their 12 annual public holidays by taking to the streets to party.
And after a night of dance and song, what better way to relax than in one of the countries peaceful wildlife parks such as the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary which plays host not only to primates but also birds, hippos and crocodiles.
