Environmental travellers heading to Patagonia to observe the spectacular orcas, sea lions and penguins are being urged to watch from the cliff tops rather than disturb them on the beaches.
The amazing wildlife that makes its home on these shores entices thousands of travellers every year and now efforts are being made to ensure the animals remain at a distance.
"Tourism is growing and growing. It's massive. What we're trying to do is redistribute the tourists," said Sergio Casin, conservation director for Protected Areas in the southern Argentine province of Chubut.
Too many travellers observing the wildlife from the beaches can see animals move on to more secluded spots so environmental tourists are now being encouraged to watch from further afield
Patagonia, which is mostly located in Argentina, is packed with exciting activities for intrepid adventurers and not just those who are interested in wildlife.
Much of the area's landscape is spectacular in itself, playing host to the largest ice-fields and glaciers in the southern hemisphere outside of Antarctica.
