Groundbreaking+museum+to+be+built+in+Cambodia

Those who are planning Cambodia holidays will soon have the opportunity to visit a unique museum which will serve as a permanent reminder of the country's past.

With the help of US funding, the Indochinese nation is to build a Khmer Rouge genocide museum and library to educate visitors about the atrocities of Pol Pot's guerrilla movement.

Documentation Centre of Cambodia head Youk Chhang told Reuters: "Genocide does not discriminate.

"It kept happening in the last century and one way is to use education as a tool help to prevent genocide."

Mr Chhang, who will head up the new museum, has been working on researching the crimes of the regime for more then ten years.

Cambodia's history has strengthened the nation and it is now emerging as a stable and popular holiday destination, particularly for environmental tourists.

Many areas of the country which were previously off-limits to tourists have now opened up creating a unique experience for holidaymakers looking for the trip of a lifetime. ADNFCR-1391-ID-18562654-ADNFCR
