Londo Lodge With its stunning views of the turquoise seas and pristine beaches of the Indian Ocean,
Londo Lodge is situated on a peninsula just south of the
Quirimbas National Park and overlooks beautiful
Pemba Bay, the third largest natural bay in the world. A private Bush & Beach resort, here guests can fully expect to enjoy the highest standards of luxury and hospitality.
Each lodge has its own unique,
distinctive look & feel - a blend of traditional sub-Sahara African and Indian styles.
Facilities include an eclectic restaurant, idyllic sunset beach bar, and breathtakingly beautiful swimming pool and spa facilities.
Activities include; snorkeling off the beach, diving,
game fishing, safari walks, mangrove riverboat trips, dolphin and
whale watching in season, water-skiing and sunset dhow cruises to name just a few.
Benguerra LodgeA two hour flight northwest from Johannesburg will bring you to the
Bazaruto Archipelago, a National Marine Park, and
Benguerra Island. Here the stylish Benguerra Lodge promotes a feeling of romance, privacy and seclusion with its unspoilt and uncrowded beaches and surrounding lush
indigenous forest.
The resort offers 11 airy sea view en-suite chalets which merge into natural forest with no windows and doors! There is one villa with two en-suite double bedrooms, private lounge/dining,
personal chef and private pool and sundeck. For honeymooners there are two beautiful, romantic casitas with private deck and plunge pool/Jacuzzi, bath and indoor and outdoor showers.
Interspersed between the large wooden decks with shaded seating you will find the lounge, bar, dining room and library. Outside there is a
swimming pool and small Spa.
As the weather is temperate the sea remains warm all year round and offers fantastic snorkeling and diving opportunities for resort guests. As well as deep sea fishing, sea kayaking and dhow cruising you can also enjoy
saltwater fly fishing, bird watching, island tours and Land Rover trips.
QuiláleaThe little known island of
Quilálea was once a safe haven for Portuguese and Arab traders to moor their dhows and rest on their way to the markets of
Quirimba. From here the Swahili word "to sleep", "lala" was derived!
An oasis of peace and tranquility, the resort features only nine villas. All are lovingly designed and crafted using natural stone and makuti thatch to ensure a cool and comfortable stay. Embellished with local
sculptures each villa's private teak deck and shower boast unimpeded panoramic sea views.
The superb cuisine here is a
fushion of Mozambican fare influenced by the herbs and spices of Portugal and Goa. The chef will prepare your personal dish, which you can choose to eat either in the open terraced dining room, on the beach or at "Por do Sol" for a
romantic candle-lit dinner.
Enjoy sailing and fishing trips, or explore beneath the
turquoise waters and experience the myriad colours of the deep. Humpback Whales suckle their calves in Quilálea's deep channel,
turtles hatch on the pristine beaches and exotic birds nest in the mangroves. It will not be hard to lose yourself, for a time, in this
idyllic island world with all it has to offer.
Azura, at Gabriel's Benguerra IslandSituated on the
unspoilt island of
Benguerra, within a National Park, Azura is Mozambique's first luxury eco-boutique.
Nestled between swaying palms on soft white squeaky sand, overlooking the sparkling sun-flecked Indian Ocean, the resort boasts 15 villas, each with its own
infinity pool. Each villa blends modern chic with traditional African style; carved beams, traditional artwork and a thatched roof. All indoor and outdoor space is designed with privacy in mind, all just footsteps from the beach.
Enjoy the resorts public areas, furnished with cool cottons and the textures of
Africa, sip cocktails with your feet in the sand or enjoy fresh sushi at the
Star Bar which is designed to showcase the magnificent night sky above you. Fresh local produce is transformed into the chef's highly rated signature dishes, ably complemented by wines from the resort's extensive cellar. Choose between the
panoramic views of the main restaurant, candlelit dining on the beach or a picnic in a secluded spot of your choice.
Hiding amongst the
dunes you will find the resort's spa. Treatments are based on local ingredients and traditions and designed to leave you feeling totally relaxed and revitalized.
The resort's philosophy is for its guests to be encouraged to do as little or as much as they wish. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, around the pool, or in the spa. Snorkel or dive the
magnificent reefs, swim with dolphins or go out whale watching or sailing. Explore the island and discover the local flora and fauna, then indulge in a spot of
star gazing while listening to ancient African stories that chart the cosmos.
Vamizi IslandThe northern most reaches of Mozambique's 2000-mile coastline is home to the
Quirimbas Archipelago with its 32 tropical coral islands. Here the island of Vamizi with its clear waters, untouched coral reefs and fertile swathes of acacias, hibiscus and casuarina trees plays host to ten spacious sea-facing beach villas, designed to ensure the ultimate
privacy.
Built amongst the trees, just back from the beach so as not to disturb nesting turtles, the palm-thatched villas are furnished with king-size beds, marble bathrooms and expansive verandahs with
Swahili day beds, perfect for an afternoon siesta.
Every meal at
Vamizi is a culinary experience based on the freshest of fish combined with Mozambican specialties. Fresh fish, prawns,
calamari, lobster, crab and crayfish are cooked to perfection by a team of five-star cordon bleu chefs.
Kayak along the beach or take a leisurely cruise in a dhow, explore beneath the depths or snorkel the pristine coral reefs. Explore the island on foot watching for the beautiful bird life or take a daytrip to nearby
Rongui Island.
