Morondava and Kirindy Morondava and Kirindy

Morondova, Madagascar Kirindy Forest, Madagascar
Morondova is a vibrant west coast town, centre of the Menabe Sakalava sub-tribe. It is the centre of the prosperous rice growing area and has the atmosphere of a laid back coastal town. There are wide deserted beaches where one can dive and swim. The spectacular Avenue of the Baobabs lies 45 minutes north of Morondova and beyond that is a lake, brilliant for birdwatching.

60km to the north by sand road is the Kirindy Forest, one of the last age-old dense and dry forests remaining in Madagascar and is also largest stretch of forest in the west coast region.
