Jane Goodall's Journey began in 1960 at the age of 26 when she travelled to Gombe in Tanzania to begin studying wild chimpanzees, a study that still continues today. Today she travels more than 300 days a year to raise awareness of the plight of chimpanzees, their environment and to share stories about the programmes that are truly making a difference to wildlife and the human community.

Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots is a global programme for young people of all ages now active in more than 130 countries with 1,540 groups within the UK alone involving more than 1 million young people in hands on projects for people, animals and the environment we all share.
