Mexico Honeymoon

The largest of Central America's countries, Mexico can assault the senses with its sights and sounds, tastes and smells and unique mix of culture and landscapes. The country's size and topography guarantees an immense variety of habitats and wildlife. From the tropical jungle in Chiapas to the Chichuahan Desert in the north and the pine forests of the central Sierras to the dramatic coast line of the Pacific, you will discover toucans, hawks, parrots and eagles; on the ground, jaguars, ocelots, tapir and anteaters; while in the sea are whales, sharks and turtles. Its history is a fascinating procession of peoples and cultures. Ancient Mayan pyramids, wide Zapotec ball courts and Olmec stone heads emerge from the jungle, whilst beautiful catholic convents and luxurious haciendas line the cobbled streets of the colonial towns and villages. Whether your desire is to climb ancient pyramids, admire smoking volcanoes, meet the local wildlife or just relax on the beach, the Mexican people will ensure a warm and friendly reception.

Mexico Honeymoon Itinerary

Day 1
Fly from London Heathrow to Mexico City. Arrive and transfer to the trendy W Mexico City Hotel.

Day 2
Morning at leisure with an afternoon tour of Mexico City including Diego Rivera's murals in the Palacio Nationale, the Catedral Metropolitana, the oldest and largest cathedral in Latin America, the Templo Mayor and the fantastic National Anthropological Museum.

Day 3
Today visit the pretty neighbourhood of Coyoacan, home to the Mexico City's rich and famous, and the Frida Kahlo Museum.

Days 4
Private full day guided tour to the shrine of Guadalupe, the most revered in the whole of Mexico, and the formidable archaeological site of Teotihuacan.

Day 5
Depart Mexico on a local flight to Campeche a striking colonial port town, famous for its historic wall. Stay at the charming colonial Hacienda Uayamon.

Day 6
Visit Edzna with its impressive Plaza Principal surrounded by impressive stone temples and rich carvings. Enjoy a city tour of Campeche.

Day 7
A day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful hacienda, its unique pool and lovely grounds. Spa treatments can be organised too.

Day 8
Depart for the ruins of Kabah and and the World Heritage site at Uxmal. Overnight at the magnificently restored Hacienda Santa Rosa.

Day 9
Travel on to the Riviera Maya via the ruins of Chichen Itza, one of the most famous and well preserved of all the Yucatan's Mayan sites. Stay at Esencia, a luxury boutique resort on the Riviera Maya.

Day 10 - 12
At leisure to rest and enjoy this tranquil place.

Day 13
Transfer to Cancun and your return overnight flight to London via Mexico City.
