Mama Ruisa's French owner has converted an old colonial house, into a simple but boutique style property with just 6 bedrooms. The original features have been retained; high ceilings, tall wooden shutters, stained glass ceiling, wrought iron verandas all complimented with stylish and elegant French furnishings.

The service at Mama Ruisa is relaxed and personal, the walled gardens and swimming pool are a great place to unwind and you can stroll around the local area enjoying the local market stalls and shops plus choose from a great selection of restaurants.

Santa Teresa is set well away and above the famous beaches of Rio (15 minutes to Ipanema), however you are in the boho chic area of Rio, the area favoured by artists and musicians.
