Lion Sands is situated in the heart of the Sabi Sands Reserve in the world-renowned Kruger National Park. It is reputed to have the highest concentration of leopard in the world. This makes for one of the most awesome game viewing areas in South Africa. The Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino) as well as numerous other species of game abound in this area. Lion Sands consists of two lodges; River Lodge and Ivory Lodge each offer guests comfortable air-conditioned accommodation on the banks of the Sabie River.

River Lodge faces due east, catching the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside showers & wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. River Lodge is the soul of Lion Sands. It is positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. The lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation.

Ivory Lodge faces due south and is approximately 100 meters upstream of River Lodge. The rooms are built independently of one another allowing for complete privacy. Ivory Lodge has all the facilities of river lodge but offers a more sophisticated and contemporary experience, allowing you to be in the middle of the bush and yet with all the comforts of home.
