Founded back in 1991, the Libertador Tambopata Lodge is one of the most established eco-tourism lodges on the banks of the Tambopata River. With a capacity for 59 guests, it is also one of the smallest lodges. Smaller groups, we believe, contribute to a more fulfilling visit and reduce the impact on the many species of fauna that abound in the surrounding forest.
Within the entire territory of the Libertador Tambopata Lodge, and the rest of the Tambopata National Reserve, there are limitless opportunities to observe the tropical rainforest and its wildlife. Here it is possible to observe rare species such as the giant otter, anacondas, jaguars and ocelots. The lodge has something to offer everybody, from those who just want to escape from the noise of the city, to naturalists and professional photographers. The experienced nature guides are always willing to help the guests understand and better appreciate this unique area.
The Libertador Tambopata Lodge offers wooden, thatched cabins built in harmony with the local forest. Each cabin has twin beds, en suite bathroom and a porch with hammocks for relaxing. The main building has a bar, games area, and small library. The lodge boasts 25km of well-maintained trails around the complex. Naturalist guides are in residence all year round and will introduce you to the flora, fauna and animals of the Rain Forest.
