Situated in the wild-life rich Eastern corner of the Conservancy is the Craig family home, Lewa Downs Wilderness Trails, where guests have been entertained in luxury for the past 30 years. Lewa Downs Wilderness Trails sleeps sixteen people housed in 8 beautifully decorated cottages, featuring fireplaces and verandas and is the home of Will and Emma Craig. Guests can relax by the fire in Will and Emma's cosy sitting room and share meals around a long banquet table in the open-air dining room. Natural springs, home-raised livestock and a five acre organic garden are transformed by skilled chefs into healthy and delicious fare. The salt water pool is refreshing, the stable are full of horses for guests to ride and the clay tennis court comes equipped with both rackets and balls.
A professional guiding team leads guests on customised daily safaris and educates them about flora, fauna, animal behaviour, conservation, Lewa history and more. Lewa Downs Wilderness Trails is an all inclusive safari experience. Other excursions that can be arranged at an additional charge include: Guided tour by air of the Conservancy and Mt. Kenya with a stop for trout fishing in a high altitude lake and 5 day walking safaris through Lewa and nearby Il Ngwesi.
