Le Colonial is a boutique hotel situated in the centre of Fort Cochin. This is probably Fort Cochin's oldest colonial house dating back to 1506 and has a colourful history to match, traces of which are visible throughout the hotel, making it almost a living museum. Art lovers and historians alike will be treated to the fabulous art collections and artefacts that adorn the walls and shelves.

There are 8 heritage rooms, named after the fabled Tippu Sultan theme. Further artwork will delight as portraits and sketches capture the historic moments in time. There is a small pool within a pretty walled garden and plenty of shade on offer.

Le Colonial has been carefully restored but as you sit within the cool walls and sip tea, one cannot help but wonder how many important dignitaries passed through and enjoyed the very same surroundings.
