La Digue Island Lodge is the biggest and most glamorous of the entire small island lodges, in a wonderful spot on La Digue. It provides a luxury haven for those who just want to get away from it all in an atmosphere of rustic decadence. The hotel offers suites, chalets, rondavels, the Yellow House or the Hotel annex. The 24 chalets and nine rondavels are strung out beside the beach or facing the tropical gardens. They look like thatched wigwams, made of local hardwood, and are very comfortably furnished. The Yellow House is a traditional plantation house, originally built in the 1900's, containing eight luxury rooms.

La Digue Island Lodge has a good restaurant with a thatched roof and sandy floor, serving lunch and dinner while the bar outside serves drinks and light lunches. This is surrounded by the swimming pool, with bar stools in the deep end! La Digue Island Lodge also offers transfers to Felicite, a small, secluded island a few miles off La Digue, which can be rented for a few days for between two and eight people. There are only two houses on Felicite, which have been restored from the original French Plantation days of the 18th century, with air-conditioning and staff on hand.
