A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE RIFT VALLEY & LAKES
Splitting Kenya in two, and covering a huge distance of 6,000 miles from Lebanon to Mozambique, Africa’s Great Rift Valley is at its most dramatic in Kenya. Containing several freshwater and soda lakes, mountains, volcanoes and wildlife reserves, the scenery here is simply breath-taking.
The lakes make a great place to stop pre or post safari. White rhino can be seen roaming the Lake Nakuru shoreline, dotted with ancient fever trees. Leopard are also often spotted here too and its incredible cliffs act as a lookout base for the ultimate birding experience as clouds of thousands of pink flamingos congregate in the shallows of the lake.
