Perfectly positioned on the banks of the Njageteck River, in the remote northern region of the Mara, Richard's camp is a labour of love by a family who has lived in the region for over 3 generations.
The owners Richard and Liz Roberts established the camp very much as their second home in 2006 and is furnished with artefacts and fabrics collected by Liz on her own travels over the years. Just 7 tents keep things exclusive and intimate, with the Indian block fabric, distressed furniture and North African design in each room offering a unique take on safari chic.
The coloured glass and Moroccan lamps bring light and colour to the open and well-presented mess tent, with atmosphere added at night by candles and hurricane lamps, taking in the sweeping views all around you. The result is an effortless, but casual luxury. The hanging chairs, filled with enormous cushions are the perfect place to sleep off the lavish lunch in between drives or walks, or somewhere to enjoy a night cap if the convivial atmosphere around the camp fire proves too much.
Why We Like It
