Of all the family homesteads in the area, Sabuk is certainly among the best. The natural stone and thatch design of the rooms are open sided to let in the expansive views and cool breeze, using materials from the surrounding area.
Hand carved wooden furniture, deep carved stone baths and four poster beds complete the rooms, which are softened with rugs and plump scatter cushions.
The infinity pool overlooks the Ewaso Nyiro River, again making the most of the stunning views, as does the welcoming bar and dining room. Hammocks and daybeds are dotted around the lodge so there is always somewhere to hide yourself away and take in the views (or take a nap!). There are also private cottages, set apart from the main lodge, mixing classic and contemporary design for people travelling in groups of families, with its own team of dedicated staff.
Why We Like It
The open design and layout of the lodge is what makes the place so special, cleverly keeping the atmosphere cosy and inviting, whilst at the same time offering a wonderful sense of space, allowing the views to take centre stage.
