Ol Malo

Ol Malo sits on the northern edge of the Laikipia plateau, in a rugged escarpment overlooking Kenya's northern frontier district, designed in such a way that it seems to grow out of the rock itself.

Built owned and managed by the Francombe family, Ol Malo has established itself as one of the leading lodges in the region, with a strong commitment to eco-tourism, combined with style, comfort and personality. Each cottage sleeps two people with the option of a third bed for families, and is equipped with a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, and private veranda offering spectacular views.

There is a swimming pool built on the cliff edge where the water spills over the top and the dining room is an elevated 'room with a view', where convivial meals are taken. The Samburu people of the area are an integral part of the lodge's personality and are superb guides and natural hosts. The activities include the usual game drives and walks, but you can also enjoy camel safaris, horse riding, fishing and river tubing. For the even more adventurous there is the chance to spend a night in the leopard hide to a chance to catch these elusive animals.

Why We Like It

Ol Malo is all about the hosting (and the views!) and as you are personally hosted by the Francombe family throughout, the personal levels of service are exceptional.
