Kampala is the capital city of Uganda and lies on seven hills. It was the political centre of the Buganda Kingdom, but principally of colonial making today it is not a particularly interesting place with few sites of special interest except the Kasubi tombs and national museum. It is often used as the start point of a visit to Jinja, the source of the Nile or a day's white water rafting on the Nile itself.
