Day 1Arrive in Amman and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Today you will enjoy a private city tour of
Amman. Visit the Roman Amphitheater (used for Gladiator shows) and the King Hussein Automobile Museum (home to some very unique sports cars, motorcycles and limited edition classic cars). From Amman you will visit
Jerash one of the largest and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture and
Um Qais a Greco Roman Decapolis city with magnificent views of the
Golan Heights and
Lake Tiberius.
Day 3Drive south to
Madaba,
Mount Nebo and the
Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, for a stay at the
Marriott Resort & Spa.
Day 4This morning you will visit
Kerak, a Crusader Castle built in 1142, before continuing to the beautiful
Wild Life Nature Reserve at Dana for your overnight stay.
Day 5 Take a hike through picturesque villages and heavily wooded valleys offering panoramic views to the
Holy Land and the
Jordan Valley. In the evening transfer to
Petra for your overnight stay.
Days 6A full day tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site,
Petra. Rediscovered in 1812 after having been lost for over 300 years, this 2,000 year old Nabataean City was carved out of the pink rock face of a hidden valley and was at the centre of Arabian trade routes for hundreds of years. Today you can still see literally hundreds of buildings, facades, tombs, baths, funerary halls and temples. Overnight in Petra.
Day 7Drive south to the desert area of
Wadi Rum and enjoy lunch in a Bedouin Tent before riding a camel to your campsite. Watch the sun set and spend the night around the fire. Overnight in Bedouin Tents.
Day 8Drive to
Aqaba. Here you will meet your scuba diving instructor for an introductory lesson in the sport. In the evening enjoy an Arabic cooking lesson.
Day 9Today you will take a short tour in a glass bottom boat before visiting the
Jordan University Marine Research center to learn about the sea life of the Red Sea. Afternoon, transfer to Amman.
Day 10Transfer to the airport for departure flight to the UK.
The cost of the above is from £1760 per adult and from £1595 per child based on two adults and two children travelling. This cost includes international flights, transfers, private driver guide (local guides in Jerash, Dana and Petra) and accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.
