Remote and little-explored, Dudhwa Natioinal Park lacked any suitable accommodation for wildlife enthusiasts until Tree of Life Jaagir Lodge opened. Imagine a private home built in the 1940s in the middle of a sugar cane plantation.
Previously used by the British Governors as a hunting lodge; now a private and luxurious accommodation in seven acres of forest land.
The Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is a protected area in Uttar Pradesh sharing the northeastern boundary with Nepal. To access Dudhwa, fly from Delhi to Lucknow followed by a four hour drive. Alternatively it is a long nine hour drive from Delhi.
Understated luxury in the wilderness, the Tree of Life Resort, Dudhwa is an amazing coming together of period antique furniture, beautiful wall-paper patterns, rich upholstery and an overall feeling comfort. You have the option of staying in the main Lodge or in the Villas or ‘jhaalas’ which are spread across the five acres of land. All the accommodation options are non-smoking and come with double beds and air conditioning (heating and cooling). There are no in-room televisions but there is a TV room. There is a fully stocked bar with open fire, a large verandah where guests have breakfast and tea and a fresh water swimming pool.
Early morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the park.
