After three years of restoration Hotel Santa Teresa, located in the heart of the historic Santa Teresa District, reopened. The property is a member of Relais et Chateaux.
Hotel Santa Teresa sits amid patios, gardens and terraces, has 44 rooms (4 different categories) with eco-ethnic and refined interior design with burnt cement, tropical woods, cotton, linen, coconut fibers and indigenous Brazilian art. More than half the rooms have balconies with panoramic views over the Guanabara Bay, the Teresopolis Mountains and the outstretched arms of Christ.
Guests can take advantage of the generous-sized pool with a 25-meter lane and stunning views across gardens of mango and palm trees, avocados and jasmines frequented by toucans, parrots and monkeys. Hotel Santa Teresa also hosts a bar under the arches of the restored slave quarters, a gastronomic restaurant with lovely views and a spa offering massages and natural treatments.
The hotel is located just 100 meters from the central plaza of Santa Teresa, with a relaxed selection of bars, restaurants and boutique shops. From here catch the last historic trolley of Rio to downtown Lapa in just 5 minutes. The journey to the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema takes approximately 20 minutes, travelling through the Tijuca Park.
Hotel Santa Teresa supports a number of local social projects, helping the young in the slums and favelas of Rio. The different projects focus on education, culture and sports for children and adolescents.
